Ingredients:

For the Cinnamon Apple Crumble Pie Crust:

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3-4 tablespoons ice water

For the Apple Filling:

  • 6 cups peeled, cored, and thinly sliced apples (about 6 medium-sized apples)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Crumble Topping:

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

For the Cinnamon Apple Crumble Pie Crust:

  1. In a food processor, combine the flour and salt.
  2. Add the cold, cubed butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Slowly add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough starts to come together.
  4. Form the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges and set aside.

For the Apple Filling:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  2. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust.

For the Crumble Topping:

  1. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Pour the melted butter over the dry ingredients and stir until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
  3. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling.

Baking:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips.
  3. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown, and the filling is bubbling.
  4. If the edges of the crust start to brown too quickly, cover them with aluminum foil.
  5. Allow the pie to cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
